Sovereignty Housing
Entrepreneurial Institute of Washington Partners with Northwest Native Asset Building Coalition to Launch Groundbreaking Sovereignty Housing Program
The Entrepreneurial Institute of Washington (EIW) (nonprofit), in collaboration with the Northwest Native Asset Building Coalition (NWNABC) (nonprofit), is proud to announce the launch of their Sovereignty Housing Program (SHP), a transformative initiative aimed at addressing affordable housing challenges while empowering underserved communities across Washington State and beyond.
This collective impact initiative of nonprofits and businesses aims to create eco-friendly and sustainable housing opportunities. By utilizing a patented SHP green modular panelization building system, it addresses critical housing and environmental challenges while fostering economic resilience. Not only can these nature-based and sustainable building panels be fabricated locally, but the materials can also be grown locally.
“The Sovereignty Housing Program is a bold step toward economic empowerment and environmental stewardship,” said Daniel Seydel, CEO of EIW. “By training a skilled workforce, we are addressing critical housing needs while fostering economic growth in Native, Black and other communities of color.”

Key Components of the Program
Workforce Development
Training underserved workers in eco-friendly construction techniques, including the cultivation and processing of building materials on tribal lands.
Sustainable Housing Solutions
Building affordable, resilient, and culturally significant homes tailored to the needs of the underserved and communities of color.
Community Empowerment
Collaborating with local communities to strengthen economic sovereignty and create pathways to sustainable livelihoods.
Sovereignty Housing: Strengthening Communities Through Resilience and Economic Independence
The program will launch with pilot projects in partnership with Tribal Nations and at-risk populations, aligning with ongoing efforts to relocate communities threatened by rising sea levels.
“This program exemplifies the power of indigenous ingenuity,” noted Andrea Alexander, Executive Director of NWNABC. “Together, we are building more than homes; we are building economic sovereignty.”
The Sovereignty Housing Program reflects EIW’s mission to foster resilience and opportunity among underserved communities, providing a model for sustainable development that can be replicated nationwide.
